I think that part of the problem with the Olympics, in the US at least) is that NBC focuses on the marquis sports where competitors get a lot of glory and $$$ (did you know Michael Phelps is worth $50million? Neither did .

When you step away from those sports to the ones where people compete for the sheer love of it, you find so much more heart and humanity. If you can find them.

just saw this on my face place: Jack Sock showed what good sportsmanship is all about....Olympic.tennis match...his opponent served, the guy calling the shots said it was out....Sock said to his opponent 'no, it was in...challenge it'. His opponent couldn't believe it but eventually agreed to challenge it...after viewing the tape, it was declared in bounds and there was thunderous applause from the crowds. Sock lost the match but won our hearts, is what the post said.
I agree.

Very nice note to read. very true. sometimes a hug can cure and help so much. but same goes with a sincere apology.

This is 2016.The gaymes are acceptable.
They say to this day that the 1936 Olympics in Germany
set the standard that every host city today tries to
immolate.I'm sorry, that's emulate!

Using more than all the road!

I remember running a 10 K once while in my 20's and there was an older man in his 50's, overweight, sweating up a storm, really huffing and puffing. I was afraid that he would have a heart attack. My friend had finished and had come back to find me in the crowd. I pointed at him and she ran with him back to the finish line. She made sure he went to the medical tent afterward, too.
That made me glad to be a runner at the time...
